You're reading: Rada ratifies agreement with Croatia on disaster recovery cooperation

The Verkhovna Rada has ratified the agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Croatia on cooperation in the field of disaster prevention and liquidation of their consequences.

Some 229 people’s deputies voted for relevant bill No. 0173 at the plenary session on February 28, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.

According to Article 1 of this agreement, it is applied in the event of catastrophes if the resources of one of the parties are insufficient to prevent catastrophes or eliminate their consequences.

The agreement also defines the procedure for granting and receiving assistance, the procedure for crossing the border and the rules for finding help teams, the import, export and transit of equipment and assistance, the procedure for recovering costs and damage.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of Croatia signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of disaster prevention and liquidation of their consequences in Kyiv on November 21, 2016.
