The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has registered a draft resolution of the Ukrainian parliament on appeal to the Norwegian Nobel Committee for nominating Oleh Sentsov, a Ukrainian film director and a political prisoner in the Russian Federation, for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Corresponding draft resolution No. 9040 of the authorship of a number of people’s deputies from the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko faction, as well as their colleagues from the People’s Front Party was submitted to the Verkhovna Rada and sent to the parliament leadership for consideration on September 4.
The text of the draft resolution and accompanying documents are not yet available on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.
