Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has renamed Kirovohrad district of Kirovohrad region to Kropivnytsky region.
Some 231 deputies voted for corresponding resolution No. 4906 at a plenary session on Tuesday, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.
According to the resolution, the renaming was carried out in accordance with the law of Ukraine “On the condemnation of the communist and national socialist totalitarian regimes in Ukraine and the prohibition of the propaganda of their symbolism.”
