The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will convene for an extraordinary plenary session at 10.00 on Sept. 29.

Parliamentary Chairman Andriy Parubiy signed a relevant resolution on Sept. 27, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.

The extraordinary meeting will be held at the request of the president of Ukraine. The agenda of the meeting includes the only matter – the dismissal of judges.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko earlier on Sept. 27 asked Parubiy to convene an extraordinary session of parliament no later than on Sept. 29 to consider the dismissal of judges who violated their oath.

“I have appealed to the Verkhovna Rada chairman to hold an extraordinary session of parliament by September 30 to dismiss all judges for breach of oath, who were named by the High Council of Justice, including those involved in the illegal arrest of Maidan activists,” reads in a statement released on Sept. 27 evening on Poroshenko’s official page on Facebook.
