The Verkhovna Rada has introduced 12-year schooling since 2027, approved an increase of the minimum wage of teachers up to four living minimum wages for able-bodied citizens on a phased basis until 2023.

Some 255 deputies voted for the adoption of corresponding bill No. 3491-d at the meeting on September 5, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.

Some 110 Verkhovna Rada members from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction, 70 MPs from the People’s Front faction, 25 MPs from the Samopomich faction, 14 MPs from the Radical Party, 13 MPs from the Batkivschyna party, 11 parliamentarians from the Peoples’ Will parliamentary group as well as 12 independent parliamentarians voted for this law. No deputy from the Opposition Bloc faction and Vidrodzhennia party voted for this law.

At the same time, 16 Verkhovna Rada members voted against the bill: 14 MPs from the Opposition Block faction, one MP from the Poroshenko Bloc faction and one non-affiliated parliamentarian.
