You're reading: Radutsky: Burden on healthcare system remains under control

The burden on the healthcare system, despite the increase in the incidence of COVID-19, remains under control, Mykhailo Radutsky, the head of the parliamentary committee for public health, medical assistance and medical insurance, said.

“In the country as a whole, the burden on the healthcare system remains under control,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

Radutsky clarified that at present, resuscitation beds are occupied by 27%, beds with supplied oxygen – by 22%, ventilators – by 10%.

He noted that currently the most alarming indicators are in four regions – Chernivtsi, Volyn, Zakarpattia and Ternopil regions.

“In the near future, these western regions may transfer from the “green” zone immediately to the “red” one,” he wrote.

Radutsky also clarified that according to the number of patients per 100,000 of the population, the leaders are Chernivtsi and Luhansk regions. The highest occupancy of beds with oxygen is in Chernivtsi (55%) and Ternopil (40%) regions.

“I am convinced that the local authorities will not wait for a further sharp deterioration in the epidemiological situation and will respond promptly: strengthen control over the basic quarantine rules, prepare for the opening of additional beds in “COVID” departments,” he said.
