Reactor four of Zaporizhia nuclear power plant (NPP) on Jan. 30, 2017 was disconnected from Ukrainian power grid automatically over the disconnection of the Dniprovska 750 kV power line, the press service of National Nuclear Generating Company Energoatom has reported.

The press service said that at 12:44 Dniprovska power line was connected, and reactor four was connected to the power grid at 14:08. Now the reactor is ascending power.

According to a posting on the website of Zaporizhia NPP, as of 14:59 on Jan. 30 all six reactors of the plant with a total capacity of 4.649 GW were operating.

Energoatom said that when the reactor was disconnected no conditions and operation safety limits were violated. Radiation levels are normal.

In the morning on Mon. 12 out of 15 reactors of four NPPs were operating. Reactor three of Rivne NPP is undergoing scheduled overhaul until Feb. 16, reactor two of Yuzhnoukrainsk NPP – scheduled repair until Feb. 23, reactor one of Rivne NPP – scheduled repair until Feb. 6.

Energoatom is the operator of all four Ukrainian-based operating nuclear power plants, which have 15 VVER reactors with an overall generating capacity of 13.835 gigawatts.
