You're reading: Real wages in Ukraine 14.2 percent up

Real wages in Ukraine in October compared with October 2017 increased by 14.2 percent, compared with September it increased by 0.2 percent, the State Statistics Service has reported.

According to the service, the average nominal wage of full-time employees in October compared with the previous month increased by 1.9 percent, in annual terms by 24.9 percent, reaching Hr 9,218, whereas in September it amounted to Hr 9,042, in August Hr 8,977, in July some Hr 9,170, June some Hr 9,141, May some Hr 8,725, April some Hr 8,480, March some Hr 8,382, February some Hr 7,828, and in January some Hr 7,711.

According to statistics, the largest rise in the average wage of full-time employees in October compared with October 2017 was observed in Vinnitsa (by 29.8 percent), Volyn (by 29.5 percent), Zakarpattia (by 29 percent), Poltava (by 28.6 percent), Rivne (by 28.5 percent), Dnipropetrovsk (by 28.2 perccent), Zaporizhia (by 27.5 perccent), Lviv (by 26.7 percent), Zhytomyr (by 26.4 percent), Kirovohrad (by 26.2 percent), Khmelnytsky (by 25.9 percent), Kyiv and Ternopil (by 25.7 percent each) and Chernihiv (by 25.4 percent) regions and in Kyiv City (by 20.9 percent).

Wage growth in Donetsk and Luhansk regions (excluding part of the JFO zone) was 22.9 percent and 23.3 percent respectively.

The highest level of wages in the past month was recorded in Kyiv at Hr 13,850, the lowest one in Chernivtsi region with Hr 7,128.
