You're reading: Red Cross to attempt to help Ukrainian naval personnel taken prisoners by Russia

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) will take all the available measures to get access and provide assistance to the Ukrainian naval personnel who were taken prisoners as part of Russia’s act of aggression in the Kerch Strait, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has said.

“This morning I spoke to the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Peter Maurer. The ICRC will apply all the available measures to get access to our sailors and provide necessary medical assistance to them,” he wrote in a tweet on Twitter on November 27.
