Ukrainian police say a missing family of four has been killed in an antitank mine explosion near the front line in the eastern region of Luhansk, an area the United Nations has called one of the most mine-contaminated places on Earth.

Police officers discovered the bodies of a couple — both man and woman were aged 57 — their 38-year-old son, and his common-law wife, also aged 38, near the charred remains of a Chevrolet Niva.
