RFE/RL: Date set for Crimean journalist’s trial

The 59-year-old journalist Mykola Semena has been charged with ‘public calls to action aimed at violating Russia’s territorial integrity’ for a text which makes it clear that Crimea is not Russia’s territory.

A date has been set for the high-profile trial of journalist Mykola Semena in the Russian-controlled Ukrainian region of Crimea.

Semena’s lawyer, Emil Kurbedinov, told RFE/RL on Feb. 8 that preliminary hearings into the case will be held by the Zaliznychnyy district court in Simferopol on Feb. 17.
