Ukrainian authorities have called for a manhunt for former Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili, hours after his dramatic escape from police custody in Kyiv.

The announcement by Ukrainian Prosecutor-General’s Office spokesman Andriy Lysenko on December 5 followed chaotic scenes in Kyiv in which Saakashvili’s supporters freed him from a police van after security forces stormed his apartment, dragged him off the roof, and bundled him into the vehicle.
