The Kherson court of appeals on March 6 will hear a complaint of defending lawyers of Director of RIA Novosti Ukraine Kirill Vyshinsky against the extension of his detention.

Andriy Domansky, lawyer of Vyshinsky, told Interfax-Ukraine that before the counterclaim is heard his client would not be convoyed to Kyiv from Kherson. The lawyer said that it is likely that the Vyshinsky case will be heard after filing to court.

Domansky also recalled that according to the court decision, Vyshinsky is to study the materials of the case before Feb. 28.

As reported, Ukrainian law enforcement agents detained Vyshinsky on suspicion of high treason in Kyiv on May 15, 2018.

The Kherson City Court remanded him in custody on May 17, 2018. The Kherson City Court has since extended Vyshinsky’s period of custody several times, and an appellate court has upheld the rulings.
