RIA Novosti office in Ukraine and Interselekt LLC, the company through which its economic activities were carried out in Kyiv, have been included in the sanctions list of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) published on May 24.
The appendix to the NSDC decision of Ukraine dated May 2, 2018, published on the website of the head of state, mentions RIA Novosti Ukraine, as well as Interselekt LLC, the company through which, according to the SBU, RIA Novosti Ukraine’s work was financed.
Earlier, the head of the RIA Novosti Ukraine news agency, Kirill Vyshinsky, was detained on suspicion of high treason (Part 1, Article111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Sanctions envisage blocking of assets, limiting or stopping the provision of telecommunications services, prohibiting an increase in the statutory fund, as well as blocking access to the website www.rian.com.ua.
