The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation filed charges in absentia to head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov of “organizing mass riots” and “public calls for violating the territorial integrity of Russia.”
“Chubarov was involved in the investigation as an accused. He is charged with organizing mass riots accompanied by violence; public calls for the implementation of actions aimed at violating the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation, committed using the media; as well as public calls for the implementation of actions aimed at violating the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation ( Part 1 of article 212, Part 2 of Article 280.1, Part 1 of Article 280.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation),” the website of the Office of the Investigative Committee in Crimea reports.
