As of 6 p.m., Russia-backed separatists violated the ceasefire in the east of Ukraine four times on Feb. 4, including twice with the use of weapons forbidden by the Minsk agreements, the Ukrainian military has reported.

As a result of shelling not a single soldier was injured, the statement says.

Militants fired at the positions of the Ukrainian military using mortars of 82 mm caliber, automatic grenade launchers, large-caliber machine guns and small arms near the Vilny village on the outskirts of the town of Zolote, and twice from grenade launchers of different systems, large-caliber machine guns in the area of the Novoluhanske settlement of the Bakhmut district of the Donetsk region. 82 mm of mortars and automatic grenade launchers were used by the separatists to fire at the Ukrainian army positions near the village of Opytne, Yasynuvata district.

“Our defending units in response suppressed the enemy fire by using their fire weapons on duty… The situation in the JFO (the Joint Forces Operation) area remains under the control of the Ukrainian military,” the report says.
