Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko says that Russia has been excluded from the number of producers of components for the Ukrainian transport plane An-178.

“The Ukrainian beauty, An-178, has recently made a demo flight in the suburb of London at the international air show Farnborough Airshow,” he wrote on Facebook on July 18.

The President recalled that the An-178 transport aircraft had been developed by engineers of State Enterprise (SE) Antonov. “And, most importantly, 78 percent of the components for the aircraft are manufactured in Ukraine, and Russia has been excluded from the list of the countries that produce the rest of the details for our An-178,” Poroshenko added.

State Enterprise Antonov is a leading Ukrainian developer and manufacturer of aircraft equipment, a recognized world leader in the manufacture of transport aircraft. Under a government decision, the enterprise in 2015 was incorporated in state-owned Ukroboronprom Concern.
