You're reading: Russia still rejects idea of trilateral mechanism for missing persons search in Donbas

The Ukrainian side, at a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) in Minsk on February 14, called on Russia to reconsider its position on the creation of a trilateral mechanism for searching for missing persons in Donbas.

Darka Olifer, spokeswoman for Ukraine’s second president and the country’s representative in the TCG, Leonid Kuchma, wrote on her Facebook page on February 14 that the issue concerned the search for missing persons with the participation of Ukraine, Russia, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the invitation of representatives of Russia-backed separatists.

“Russia still refuses to participate in this work,” Olifer wrote.
