Russia-backed separatists mounted nine attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Kyiv time on Sept. 18, the press center of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) Headquarters has said in an update on Facebook.

“There have been no Joint Forces losses,” it said.

The separatists opened fire from grenade launchers of various systems, large-caliber machine guns and small arms to shell Ukrainian positions near the villages of Krymske, Luhanske, Pivdenne, Pavlopil, and Shyrokyne. Proscribed weapons were not used.

“In case there was a threat to soldiers’ life, commanders ordered to fire back to make the enemy cease fire,” the JFO JQ said.

The situation in the JFO zone is under control, it added.
