Russian-led illegal armed formations mounted four attacks on Ukrainian army positions in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, from 00:00 to 18:00 Kyiv time on Monday, January 28.

“There have been no Ukrainian army casualties during shelling by the Russian occupation forces. The defending units fired back, using conventional weapons,” the press center of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) said on Facebook in an evening update on Monday.

In particular, Ukrainian positions near the village of Krymske in Luhansk region came under fire from grenade launchers and small arms, while grenade machine guns were used to attack Ukrainian troops stationed near the village of Travneve in Donetsk region.

The enemy used grenade machine guns, large-caliber machine guns and small guns to attack Ukrainian positions near the village of Novotoshkivske in Luhansk region, while grenade launchers and heavy machine guns were used to fire at Ukrainian defenders near the village of Shyrokyne in Donetsk region.

“The situation in the JFO zone remains under control,” the update said.
