Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov has noted the Russian trace in the terrorist attack against Colonel Maksym Shapoval, an officer of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine, and also points out the similarity of the scenario of the murder of Colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine Oleksandr Kharaberiush.
“Today, one of the best Ukrainian military scouts, Maksym Shapoval, who took an active part in protecting the Ukrainian state from the Russian invasion, was killed as a result of the terrorist attack in Kyiv,” Turchynov said at a special meeting of the NSDC press office reported.
According to him, this terrorist attack was committed under the same scenario as the killing of the Ukrainian counterintelligence officer Colonel Kharaberiush in March.
“There is every reason to believe that these murders were planned and organized with the direct participation of Russian special services,” the NSDC secretary said.
“This terrorist attack is aimed at intimidating and destabilizing the situation in the country and it coincides with a large-scale cyber attack, which also has a Russian trace,” he stressed.
