SIMFEROPOL – Employees of the Federal Security Service’s (FSB) border department branch for Crimea have detained a small-size vessel with four citizens of Ukraine onboard in the western part of the Sea of Azov. The FSB press service said on Feb. 15 that Ukrainians didn’t have identification documents.

“The captain of the ship failed to obey a border guard detachment’s legitimate demand to stop and tried to flee. Over 290 caught kalkan fish and an illegal fishing implement, a stake net, were detected during the examination of the vessel. At the same time, the detainees did not have the ship identification and registration documents, including the permit to fish water biological resources,” the press service said.

The vessel and the Ukrainian fishermen were brought to the Kerch port for an inquiry.
