Irish airline Ryanair is once again making headlines: In the Polish city of Poznan, a Ryanair flight to Odesa on July 3 was delayed by an hour due to its pilot refusing to let approximately 30 passengers onto the flight, Polish media reported.

The reasons behind the pilot’s actions are unknown — the passengers had already gone through security checks and border control before they were refused entry onto flight FR6705.

Polish airport representative Blave Patrin has confirmed that the incident did indeed take place and the matter is still being investigated, noting that it is likely the reason behind the passengers’ refused entry was their lateness to the departure gate.

Earlier it was reported by local Polish media that the pilot was screaming that he is “the one in charge” and “the king of the plane.”

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has issued a statement on the matter, saying that the Ukrainian consulate in Poland was looking into the incident.

Poznan airport’s Patrin said that the airport’s management is looking through CCTV footage to establish the sequence of events, but couldn’t confirm the information regarding the pilot’s alleged comments.

Ryanair hasn’t yet commented on the incident.
