Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy has appealed against the ruling of the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (HACC) on a measure of restraint in the form of Hr 1 million bail in the criminal case against him.
“We have appealed against the ruling. This was a difficult decision as over the period of my mayorship in Lviv I have made sure numerous times that one has to fight for justice. Successful Lviv will always be a stick in somebody’s throat, but we have to do our job,” Sadovy wrote on Facebook.
As reported, on November 27, the HACC chose a measure of restraint in the form of Hr 1.56 million bail to Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy. The prosecution asked to appoint bail in the amount of Hr 50 million.
The court also imposed on Sadovy the obligation to come to the detective, the prosecutor, the investigating judge, to the court at each of their requirements: to inform the detective, the prosecutor or the court about the change of their place of residence and or place of work; refrain from communicating with other suspects and witnesses in these criminal proceedings.
On November 21, Sadovy was presented with a notice of suspicion of abuse of power under during the sale of a 23.49 ha plot of land for an industrial park under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 2 of Article 364 (abuse of authority or office) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, the land plot did not belong to the territorial community of Lviv as it is a farming land plot owned by Riasne-Ruske Village Council.
