MINSK– OSCE Special Envoy to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) for Ukraine Martin Sajdik has called the results of the ceasefire declared on March 8 unsatisfactory.

Sajdik told reporters following the TCG meeting in Minsk on March 13 that several days ago the security working group had reaffirmed the opposing sides’ commitment to ceasefire since March 8. Sajdik said that unfortunately the current results of this ceasefire are disappointing.

On the first days of the ceasefire the number of its violations went down 61 percent as compared with that at the beginning of this month, he said.

In this connection, the OSCE special envoy urged the opposing sides to undertake every kind of measure to ensure a reliable and steady ceasefire.

The security subgroup focused on this issue and mine clearance efforts on March 13, Sajdik said.
