You're reading: Two Russians write request to Putin to swap them for one Ukrainian political prisoner

Citizens of the Russian Federation Alexander Sattarov and Farukh Kamalov, being kept in Lukyanivske detention facility, have written a request to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to return them to Russia by swapping for one of the Ukrainian political prisoners, Ukrainian ombudswoman Liudmyla Denisova has reported.

“During today’s monitoring visit to Lukyanivske detention facility, I’ve met with Alexander Sattarov and Farukh Kamalov, who wrote a statement addressed to the president of the Russian Federation with a request to return them to the territory of Russia by exchanging for one of the Ukrainian political prisoners,” wrote Denisova on Facebook on August 14 evening.

According to her, these letters will be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to be delivered to the presidential administration by diplomatic mail.
