Officers of the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI), during the pretrial investigation of criminal proceedings on the fact of abuse of office by government officials, conducted a number of searches, in particular, at the head of the State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate of Ukraine (SACI).
“In order to identify material evidence of criminal activity, the SBI conducted a number of searches on February 24, 2021, in particular at the leadership of the State Architectural and Construction Inspectorate of Ukraine,” the SBI press service said on Feb. 24.
It is noted that the pretrial investigation is being conducted on the fact of abuse of official position by officials of public agencies when issuing construction permits (Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to six years.
