The SBU Security Service of Ukraine arrested on Aug. 1 a 25-year-old Ukrainian man, who tried to smuggle 1.3 kilogram of cocaine from Brazil into Ukraine in his stomach.

He was arrested during the customs clearing in Kyiv airport.

After the law enforcers discovered the passenger’s cargo, they delivered the man to a nearby hospital, where the doctors removed 28 condoms, filled with cocaine from Brazil, from his stomach, the Prosecutor’s General Office of Kyiv Oblast Department said.

“The drug mule said he swallowed 28 condoms with cocaine and agreed to smuggle them in Ukraine from Brazil for a $4,500 reward. He didn’t eat for three days and took special drugs that helped him ‘to keep the cargo inside his body”, they added.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, a kilogram of cocaine is worth $300,000 in Ukraine.

Now the man faces 10 years in prison if found guilty by the court.

The same day SBU detained a group of dealers, who it says are connected to the unfortunate drug mule. They are suspected of selling cocaine in the Kyiv night clubs.
