Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine have stopped using Russian software at one of the state enterprises in the field of water transport in Mykolaiv region.

Law enforcement officers established that the state maritime operator, which is of strategic importance for the economy and security of Ukraine in the sphere of water transport, bought dangerous IT products of the Russian Federation. Under the terms of the contract, the Russian manufacturer was able to access through remote administration the information and data, the use of which could disrupt the stable operation of an important infrastructure facility, the SBU press center reported on Saturday.

Currently, all threats to safe navigation are localized, the SBU said.

The service informed the management of the state enterprise about the detected threats. The use of the Russia production program has been discontinued, and channels for its connection with external telecommunication networks have also been blocked. In addition, measures are being taken to replace the Russian IT product with alternative software systems.

The press-center of the Security Service of Ukraine did not specify the name of the state enterprise.
