Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) chief Vasyl Hrytsak has said Ukrainian citizen Hennadiy Limeshko arrested by Russian on charges of alleged sabotage at Crimean facilities may be used by Russian special services for provocations.

“Unfortunately, I cannot provide detailed information on circumstances how Limeshko got into Crimea, but I, on my part, also cannot rule out your assumption,” Hrytsak said, replying to a question as to whether Limeshko’s detention could be Russian security services’ provocation.

On August 15, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said that it had averted a series of acts of sabotage against infrastructure facilities in Crimea and detained Ukrainian citizen Limeshko, an agent of Ukrainian security services. Simferopol’s Kievsky District Court ruled to arrest Limeshko for two months.
