A statement by the heads of Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and certain lawmakers about the involvement of the Security Service of Ukraine in wiretapping of presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky is a conscious dissemination of untruthful information to discredit the Ukrainian secret service, the SBU said an official statement on Thursday.

In addition, the SBU announced the disruption of a special operation to document criminal activities in the interests of Russian special services and disclosure of investigative measures. “The chiefs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs deliberately promulgated video and photos of special equipment, disclosed the forms and methods of SBU agents’ work, which intentionally allowed leaks of information with limited access, harmed the national interests of the state. Ukraine’s State Bureau of Investigation on March 6 began criminal proceedings to probe these facts,” the statement said.
