Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained in Odesa on Oct. 31 a woman previously suspected of staging a car bomb attack on SBU Colonel Oleksandr Kharaberiush in Mariupol in May, the SBU’s press center has reported.

“SBU operatives established that the female terrorist had been trained in the so-called center for special operations of the DPR’s MSS [Ministry of State Security], created and operating under the supervision of Russian special services. The direct organizer of a subversive act is the head of this terrorist group named ‘Lenin,’ from whom the criminal received components for planting a bomb,” SBU Chief Vasyl Hrytsak was quoted as saying at a briefing on Oct. 31.

The offender was seized during a lengthy operation in Odesa. According to SBU employees, she was trained at the base located on the territory of the former sports training complex.

The report notes that the SBU expects cooperation from citizens and the provision of information on staging terrorist attacks and acts of sabotage on Ukrainian territory.
