Vasyl Hrytsak, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), has spoken in favor of introducing visas with Russia.

“As for me, if you want to hear my opinion, yes, we should have visas with a country with which we are at war,” Hrytsak told reporters in Kyiv on August 23, adding that the SBU is not the right agency to assess such decisions.

Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov said on July 10 that the council had made a decision to introduce by January 1, 2018 a system of biometric control for foreign citizens entering Ukraine and put in place an electronic prior registration system for Russian citizens who intend to enter the country.
