The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has initiated criminal proceedings on grounds of encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine against blogger Anatoliy Shariy, MP from the European Solidarity faction Oleksiy Honcharenko said.

“I received a response from the SBU to my appeal with a demand to give a legal assessment of the actions of Anatoliy Shariy, who released a video on YouTube with a preview, where the map of Ukraine was without Crimea and part of Luhansk and Donetsk regions. According to the document, a pretrial investigation is underway in this regard under Part 1 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine,” Honcharenko wrote on Facebook on Nov. 7.

He also released a photo of the SBU response, signed by Deputy Head of the SBU Serhiy Andruschenko.

“The Security Service of Ukraine, within its competence, processed your deputy appeal. Following the processing, we inform you that the SBU investigators are carrying out a pretrial investigation in criminal proceedings No. 22020101110000197 dated Oct. 17, 2020 on the grounds of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, in which the circumstances set forth in your deputy’s appeal are being investigated,” the service said in the letter.
