Ukraine’s SBU State Security Service together with employees of the Chernomorka (Black Sea TV) Television and Radio Company have responded to a cyberattack against the on-air server of the station.

“SBU employees established that the cyberattack was aimed at blocking and disrupting all key elements of the on-air management system, back-up system and reserve tools. The perpetrators using pirate software received control over computer servers of the television and radio company and took the system off line,” the SBU said on Facebook.

The SBU localized the attack and prevented its negative influence on the on-air server of the company.

The work of Chernomorka has resumed. The station’s team together with SBU agents are developing a more reliable system to protect server equipment from unauthorized external access.
