Officers of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) are conducting a search at the place of residence of the vicar of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra (Kyiv Monastery of the Caves), Metropolitan Pavel of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate), as part of a case opened into the incitement of interfaith enmity.
“The SBU is carrying out a search at the place of residence of the vicar of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel, as part of a case opened into violations of citizens’ equal rights due to their race and ethnicity or their attitude toward religion. This case is substantiated by facts,” the SBU told Interfax-Ukraine on Nov. 30 morning.
