Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) have exposed an administrator of anti-Ukrainian groups of Russian social networks in Chernihiv, who, in particular, called for the overthrow of state power in Ukraine.

Law enforcers established that a resident of Chernihiv created a number of accounts in social networks through which he administered and moderated anti-Ukrainian communities. According to preliminary information, these Internet communities have united more than 20,000 participants, the SBU’s press center said on Thursday.

Detectives of the special services documented that the law breaker placed materials on the pages of social networks calling for the overthrow of the constitutional order and state power, popularized the activities of the terrorist organizations such as ‘LPR’/’DPR’, disseminated information on discrediting the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

SBU employees seized computer equipment and mobile devices with evidence of anti-Ukrainian activities during the search at the administrator’s place of residence.

SBU investigators in Chernihiv region opened criminal proceedings under Article 109 (actions aimed at the forcible change or overthrow of the constitutional order or the seizure of state power) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Information is being checked about the agitator’s contacts with representatives of Russian special services and militants of illegal armed groups of ‘LPR’/’DPR’.
