Ukrainian soldiers managed to repulse an attack by a Russian sabotage and intelligence group near the town of Svitlodarsk in Donetsk region’s Bakhmutsky district on December 4, the press center of the Ukrainian Military has said.

“Today one of the divisions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine performing combat missions in this area repelled an attack by a sabotage and reconnaissance group of the Russian-backed separatists from the 7th separate motorized rifle brigade belonging to the Second Army Corps of the 8th Army of Russian Federation’s Southern Military District. Amid the skirmish, the saboteurs left two wounded and one killed [members of their group] and hurriedly left the place of the fight,” Kyiv said on Facebook on December 4.

Yet, the Facebook post does not mention details about the state of health of the wounded.

Separatists do not stop intensive reconnaissance along the Svitlodarska Duha, involving special operations teams “whose goal is to perform acts of provocation, subversive activity at transport infrastructure facilities, crowded places to continue accusing and discrediting the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” it said.
