A Skype conference to unblock the issue of prisoner exchange in Donbas will be held on Jan. 18, Iryna Gerashchenko, Kyiv’s representative in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG), said.
“The Ukrainian side insists on the immediate unblocking of the hostage release [issue], we pointed out the realistic compromises that were proposed a few months ago for unblocking the release process. At Ukraine’s suggestion a Skype conference will be held on Jan. 18 involving TCG representatives Leonid Kuchma and Martin Sajdik [Special Representative of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe]. The release of hostages must be unblocked: such is our demand,” Herashchenko wrote on Facebook on Jan. 16 after a meeting of the humanitarian group in Minsk.
