You're reading: Slovakia suspends operation of some checkpoints on border with Ukraine

The government of Slovakia has made additions on the terms of entry into the territory of its state due to the complication of the epidemiological situation in the Slovak Republic and in Ukraine.

According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, from 9 a.m. (Kyiv time) on Nov. 9, the Veľké Slemence checkpoint will be temporarily closed as well as Malé Slemence from the Ukrainian side. The registration of pedestrians at the Ubľa checkpoint, and Maly Berezny from the Ukrainian side is suspended.

At the Vyshne Nemetske checkpoint and Uzhgorod on the Ukrainian side, the passage of persons temporarily or permanently residing in the territory of Slovakia will be carried out from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Kyiv time).

All travelers entering Slovakia are required to undergo an antigen test and are further subject to self-isolation, during which on the fifth day they must do RT PCR test. Persons who pass the territory of Slovakia in transit and in accordance with the exceptions of the decree of the Health Department of the Slovak Republic or a written exception are exempted from passing the antigen test.

The passage of freight vehicles will be carried out without restrictions.
