MOSCOW – Russian presidential candidate Ksenia Sobchak said that she has asked the Ukrainian embassy to permit her to visit Crimea.

“I have already sent a letter to the Ukrainian embassy; we are waiting for a reply. I have sent it. If I travel to Crimea, [I will do so] only across the territory of Ukraine. I believe that it is right,” Sobchak said on air of the Ekho Moskvy radio station when asked about whether she will travel to Crimea as a presidential candidate.

“If I am permitted to travel there, I will go there,” she added.
