You're reading: Some 170 towns, villages left without electricity due to bad weather

Following the deterioration of weather conditions in six regions of Ukraine, some 170 towns and villages have been cut off electricity, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has said.

“Following the deterioration of weather conditions on December 13 (snow, sometimes sleet and gusts of wind) as a result of automatic cut-offs of the system of protection of electricity transmission lines, 170 towns and villages have been cut of electricity in the following regions: 85 in the Chernihiv region, 40 in the Kyiv region, 30 in the Sumy region, nine in the Kherson region, four in the Kirovohrad region, and two in the Mykolayiv region,” a statement on the Emergency Service’s website reads.

Maintenance units of electricity supply companies have been working to restore electricity supplies everywhere.
