MINSK – Members of the Contact Group on Ukraine have agreed on unacceptability of armed clashes along the contact line, a source in the Group’s security subgroup told Interfax.

“An understanding has been reached that the current situation is extremely dangerous. [The parties] should cease fire and return to complying with the Minsk Package of Measures,” the source said on Feb. 1.

A document has been drafted for heavy weapons to be removed to storage places at a distance determined in the Package.

Compliance with the truce will be monitored by the Special Monitoring Mission of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the Joint Center for Control and Coordination.
