Source says Macron, Merkel to inform EU leaders about their assessment of Minsk accords implementation

BRUSSELS – On June 22-23 the heads of states and governments of the EU countries will hear the recommendations of their representatives in the Normandy format – French President Emmanuel Macron and Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel on the situation with the implementation of the Minsk accords in Donbas, a senior EU official said on condition of anonymity in Brussels on June 21.

“You know that we are at the stage of considering further actions with restrictive measures against Russia,” he told the media.

According to him, a technical discussion of the situation around the Minsk agreements will take place.
