The fifth and final stage of COVID-19 vaccination will begin in Ukraine on July 21, Health Minister Victor Lyashko said.

This means that jabs will be given to every willing person.

“All adults over the age of 18 who wish to be vaccinated will be able to do so from July 21,” Lyashko said. “You can get vaccinated at your nearest vaccination point, mass vaccination center, or have a mobile brigade arrive to you if you are signed up as a company of more than 50 people.”

Mass vaccination centers operate in all regions of Ukraine.

The country received its first batch of more than 2 million doses of Moderna provided by the US as part of the COVAX initiative on July 18. Moderna is now the fourth type of vaccine to be used in Ukraine, together with AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and Sinovac.

Lyashko said that half of the latest batch will be distributed across regions of Ukraine this week. The rest will be delivered later, to be used as second doses.

The coronavirus vaccination program in Ukraine started on February 24.

According to the Ministry of Health, more than 2.5 million people have received their first dose and almost 1.5 million people have been fully vaccinated as of July 19.
