An 11-year-old son of Movement of New Forces leader and former Odesa Regional Governor Mikheil Saakashvili unimpededly entered Ukraine and was not detained upon arrival at Kyiv’s Boryspil Airport, an assistant to the head of the State Border Service, Oleh Slobodian, has told Interfax-Ukraine.

“We did not apply any restrictions with regard to him. The 11-year-old child who arrived from Tbilisi and whom nobody met was held until the arrival of the person meeting him,” he told Interfax-Ukraine on Nov.10.

Slobodian said that after Saakashvili arrived at the airport, the child was transferred to his father.

Earlier, Saakashvili wrote on his Facebook page that his 11-year-old son and a person accompanying him were detained at Boryspil Airport on Nov. 10.
