Unlawful armed groups on Friday again opened fire on the positions of the Mayorsk check point on the contact line in Donetsk region, no casualties have been reported, the State Border Service of Ukraine reported.

“Terrorists have used small arms, including heavy machine guns in the attack. There were no casualties among the civilian and military personnel. The border guards didn’t open fire in response,” the press service of the State Border Service reported on Saturday.

The service also recalled that a day earlier an illegal armed group fired on the Maryinka check point. They were firing using small arms and automatic grenade launchers from the side of the village of Aleksandrivka.

“The situation in the ATO (Anti-Terrorist Operation) zone continues to remain tense, and 17 enemy attacks on road corridors have been recorded since the beginning of the year already,” the State Border Service said.
