The Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce has completed hearings in the framework of litigation between Naftogaz Ukrainy and Gazprom on the gas transit contract, Naftogaz Chief Commercial Officer Yuriy Vitrenko has said.

“Proceedings in the Stockholm arbitration have been completed. The tribunal has been hearing legal advisors, witnesses and experts for two weeks,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

According to Vitrenko, the Naftogaz team succeeded in giving convincing arguments of its rightness.

“Now the opposite side will disrupt the process in Stockholm in as many ways as they can. The main target, of course, will be Naftogaz. But there will be also attempts to revise the cost of transit through the regulator’s (NCER) decisions. There will be even attempts through the EU to make an exception for Gazprom in part of application of European standards to transit through Ukraine – until the current contract is valid… This is not an exhaustive list of threats, but we have to stand out,” he said.
