Several NATO member countries have offered assistance to Ukraine in cleaning up the aftermath of the explosions and fires that occurred at the Defense Ministry’s weapons depots near Balakliya, Kharkiv region, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has said.

“I welcome that several Allies announced today they will offer assistance to Ukraine following the explosions at the Balakliya arms depot. This is yet another clear demonstration of NATO solidarity with Ukraine,” Stoltenberg said at a press conference in Brussels on March 31, where a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Allies and a meeting of the Ukraine-NATO commission took place.

NATO is providing strong political and practical support to Ukraine, the secretary general said.

In his words, through six active Trust Funds, around 35 million euro have been allocated, providing training and advice to over 2,000 Ukrainian civilian and military personnel.
