You're reading: Survey: Zelensky, Poroshenko lead presidential ranking

If the presidential elections in Ukraine were held in the near future, then-incumbent head of state Volodymyr Zelensky and fifth president, leader of the European Solidarity party Petro Poroshenko would be in the second round, according to the results of a poll by the SOCIS sociological company, conducted from July 29 to August 3.

According to the survey, in the presidential elections in Ukraine, some 19.5% of all respondents would vote for Zelensky, some 14.3% are ready to support Poroshenko.

Other candidates are lagging far behind. Leader of the Opposition Platform – For Life party Yuriy Boiko (6.7%), leader of the Batkivschyna All-Ukrainian Union Yulia Tymoshenko (6.7%), and leader of the Strength and Honor party Ihor Smeshko (6.7%) have approximately equal positions.

At the same time, if the elections to the Verkhovna Rada were held next Sunday, some 18.6% of all polled voters would vote for the Servant of the People party. Some 13.7% are ready to vote for the European Solidarity party. Opposition Platform – For Life is supported by 11.5%, the Batkivschyna party by 7.6%, Strength and Honor by 5.7%.

The survey was conducted from July 29 to August 3, by the CATI survey method using a tablet. The results are representative at the national level in terms of age (over 18), gender, type of settlement (urban/rural) and division into regions. The survey was not conducted in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and in the part of Donetsk and Luhansk regions not controlled by the Ukrainian authorities.

A total of 2,000 respondents were interviewed.
